cat4016

is a 16-channel constant current drive for LED advertising Cards and other general -purpose display applications. The LED channel current is programmed through the external RSET resistor. Perform low output voltage operations on LED channels as low as 0.4V (2 to 100mA LED current) to achieve more power -saving design.

High -speed 4 -line serial interfaces with up to 25MHz clock frequency use shift registers and locking configuration control each separate channel. Serial output data pins (SOUT) allows multiple devices through one serial interface -level and programming. The device also includes a hidden control pin (BLANK) that can be used to disable all channels independent of the interface.

If the mold temperature exceeds the set limit, the heat clearance protection device will disable LED output. The device has 24 drawing SOIC, TSSOP, QSOP, and compact TQFN 4 x 4 mm packaging.

] Basic operation

Cat4016 uses 16 close matching current receivers to accurately adjust the LED current in each channel. The external resistance RSET is used to set the LED channel current 50 times the current in RSET.

Because each channel has an independent current response circuit, it can be strictly adjusted to all channels within a wide input voltage and LED voltage range. Under most current and power voltage conditions, the maximum voltage drop of the LED channel is 0.4V. This helps improve the heat dissipation and efficiency of the LED drive.

After power -on, the underwriter locking circuit removes all locking and shift registers, and sets all outputs to turn off. Once the lack of pressure locks is reached, the device can be programmed.

The driver will delay the activation delay of each continuous LED output channel (typical). Compared to LED1, typical LED2 delay 17ns, LED3 delay 34ns, LED16 delay 250ns. The latter is introduced when activated. The delay is to minimize the surge current on the LED power supply by the peak of the opening of the switching of the switching of the opening of the LED power within a period of time, thereby allowing smaller bypass electrical containers.

The internal pull -down and drop -down resistors are provided to set the state of the block and insertion to the state when non -external drive.

Serial interface

Provides a high -speed serial 4 -line interface for programming the opening or closing state of each LED. The interface contains 16-bit serial-to-line displacement registers (S1-S16) and 16-bit locks (L1-L16). The programming of serial to parallel registers is completed by SIN and CLK input pins. On each rising edge of the CLK signal, the data from SIN moves serially through the displacement register. If multiple devices are programmed on the same interface, the data will also be removed from SOUT, and SOUT can be connected to the next device.

On the upside of the locks, the data content of the string of the skewers and the displacement register is reflected in the lock memory. On the decline of the lock memory, the serial to parallel registers are stored in the lock memory in the state of the specific time, and the content of the parallel register is not changed serially.

Glores are used to disable all LEDs (off) at the same time, while maintaining the same data in the lock register. Low -electricity, LED output reflects the data in the lock memory. At high, all outputs are high impedance (zero current).
