ACS70310 Linear Hall IC

The ACS70310 provides the highest accuracy current sensor IC to date for core-based current sensing. The sensor is a programmable linear Hall-effect current sensor IC designed to achieve industry-leading accuracy and resolution without sacrificing bandwidth. Over the -40°C to 150°C operating temperature range, the Allegro is programmed to provide ±1.2%_ sensitivity with a zero-amp output voltage offset of only ±5mV. Temperature compensation is performed in the digital domain through integrated EEPROM technology, which enables the sensor to maintain an analog signal path with 2 μS response time and 240 kHz bandwidth, making the device ideal for HEV inverters, DC-DC converters, and electric assist Steering (EPS) application.

On-chip voltage regulators provide reverse battery protection and high resistance to electrical overstress on the supply voltage lines. This ratiometric Hall-effect sensor IC provides a voltage output proportional to the applied magnetic field. Users can configure the sensitivity and static (zero-field) output voltage by programming on the VCC and output pins to optimize the performance of the end application. The user-adjustable quiescent output voltage is approximately 50% (bidirectional configuration) or 10% (unidirectional configuration) of the supply voltage VCC, and the output sensitivity is adjustable from 0.5 mV/G to 11.5 mV/G. The ratiometric measurement of the output is also programmable and can be disabled.

The sensor IC combines a high-sensitivity Hall element with a BiCMOS interface IC featuring a low-noise, small-signal, high-gain amplifier, clamped low-impedance output stage, and proprietary high-bandwidth dynamic offset cancellation technology. These advanced Hall-effect technologies work together to provide industry-leading sensing resolution at the full 240 kHz bandwidth. Broken ground wire detection and user-selectable output voltage clamping increase reliability in safety-critical automotive applications.
