DC2820A Voltage Regulator
The LTM8060's Silent Switcher architecture minimizes EMI emissions, enabling it to pass CISPR 22 Class B standards without an input filter. This is critical for noise-sensitive applications such as medical imaging and signal processing in radio frequency. In addition, its multiple output capability allows users to use the LTM8060 to meet various voltage and load current requirements.
The LTM8060 is a complete multi-output DC/DC point-of-load regulator in a compact form factor that requires only a few input and output capacitors and resistors to set the output voltage and operating frequency. Output voltage tracking is used by the TRSS pin for power rail sequencing. External clock synchronization is available through the SYNC pin, with optional additional phase synchronization available on the CLKOUT pin. To reduce noise, spread spectrum operation can be programmed through the SYNC pin.
The DC2820A features the LTM8060 μModule regulator, a quad-output high-performance step-down Silent Switcher™ μModule regulator in a thermally enhanced 11.9 mm x 16 mm x 3.32 mm BGA package. The DC2820A has a wide operating input voltage range of 5.4 V to 40 V. The output rails are configured for 5 V, 3.3 V, 1.5 V, and 1.2 V, and the resistors are programmable from 0.8 V to 8 V. Each output can provide up to 3 A, and the phases can also be paralleled together for higher rail current requirements.
