The LT6600-5 combines a fully differential amplifier and a 4th order 5MHz low pass filter with an approximate Chebyshev frequency response. Most differential amplifiers require many precise external components to trim gain and bandwidth. In contrast, when using the LT6600-5, the differential gain can be set by two external resistors, and the filter's 5MHz cutoff frequency and passband ripple are set internally. The LT6600-5 also provides the level shifting necessary to set its output common-mode voltage to accommodate the A/D's reference voltage requirements.

The LT6600-5 uses a proprietary internal architecture that integrates an antialiasing filter and a differential amplifier/driver without sacrificing distortion or low noise performance. At unity gain, the measured in-band signal-to-noise ratio reaches an impressive 82dB. At higher gains, the input-referred noise decreases, so the device can handle smaller input differential signals without significantly degrading the output signal-to-noise ratio.

The LT6600-5 also has the ability to operate under low voltage conditions. The differential design provides superior performance for a 2VP-P signal level, while the device operates from a single 3V supply.
